about

This is the first tune we tracked, back in the ‘before-times’. The working title was “Erik Satie and John Hartford go to Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood”—clearly a mouthful. Later, in the ennui of pandemic life, I came across this quote from E.B. White and borrowed the title from it: “Hang on to
your hat. Hang on to your hope. And wind the clock, for tomorrow
is another day.” It seemed to fit both the arc of the tune and the times.
[For Kenny Malone.]
