I think my love of Stephen Foster’s melodies is pretty evident in the main theme of this tune. Chris Walters and I did our best to evoke the imagined ease and rustic elegance of a late 19th century soirée on the banks of a bucolic, southern river. Kronos Quartet, with their wide-eyed musical vision, really tied the whole piece together.
